BEST. Episode. YET. In my view this was a game-changer for Glee. It took the show (and the cast) to a whole new level of awesomeness. Let me say it this way: If it possible for me in an episode of the TV-LIVE would be, it would be the Madonna episode of Glee. I do not think I have been, as an episode since the original pilot (or another hour of Glee saw so often excited).
This hour has been hyped for so long - yours truly actually broke the news of him last fall in our cover story Glee - but actually lived up to the hype. And Madonna's music proved to be surprisingly good for big choral numbers. It was not at all surprising that Madonna would turn out to be Sue Sylvester model.
But the plot device proved to be the inclusion of their Madgjesty in the show as a really solid way. And we some learned about Sue's background that is alternately hilarious (she claims to 29 and their parents were famous Nazi-hunter - if we meet these people?) And credible (they roast their hair as a child after bleaching and it is jealous of Will's wavy mane). Sometimes it felt a little forced (playing her music in the halls felt a little unrealistic), but overall really worked. Better yet, have the entire ensemble moments instead of just Finn and Rachel - not that I do not love to see the two together.
