Jackie Kennedy

Jackie Kennedy

John F Kennedy's tragically shortened presidency is already one of the most pored over in U.S. history. But half a century, a new light on him by his widow Jackie Kennedy, the person will probably shed closest to him, saying during their later life almost never publicly on this subject or others.
The U.S. publisher Hyperion plans to issue in September 2011 a book on seven interviews with the former First Lady established in the early months of 1964 with the historian, former Assistant to the President and family friend Arthur Schlesinger. The talks were part of a proposed oral history project of the JFK era, now available at the Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. To Mrs. Kennedy's request, the interviews were kept sealed indefinitely.
The decision to release it has now been taken by her daughter Caroline, at the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Kennedy presidency in 1961 mark. The book, which still has no title, is six hours of tapes, in which Mrs. Kennedy's low, breathy voice can be heard again known to be accompanied. "Readers will be riveted," said Ellen Archer, Hyperion's president. "These talks offer a remarkable insight into the intelligent, courageous and keen observer, that was Jacqueline Kennedy."
