Henry Kissinger

Henry Kissinger

As Secretary of State canceled Henry Kissinger, a U.S. warning against the implementation of the international political assassinations, which had gone to Chile and two neighboring nations just days before a former ambassador was killed by Chilean agents on Washington's Embassy Row, in 1976, a newly released State Department cable shows.
Whether Kissinger playing a role in blocking the delivery of the warning before the attack on the governments of Chile, Argentina and Uruguay has long been a subject of controversy has been.Discovered in recent weeks by the National Security Archive, a non-profit research organization, 16 September 1976 will have cable under tens of thousands of declassified documents available to the State Department recently to the public.
In 1976, the South American countries, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay were in a program of repression, code-named Operation Condor, that these governments employed political opponents throughout Latin America, Europe and even in the United States.
