European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said the government should not subsidize any loans to Greece as part of a financial package to the country."We are very attached to the idea that there be no element of subsidy," Trichet Bloomberg Television in an interview, said today in Frankfurt. "Any government that would lend to Greece would have to ensure that it is not lending to Greece at a loss."

The leaders of the 16-nation euro region last month approved a proposal with the participation of the International Monetary Fund for loans to help the bilateral market rates, with confidence of investors in the nation. Greek bonds fell this week on renewed worries about cut the ability of the country to the European Union's largest budget deficit.

Trichet said today that a Greek not default to an option, I think with any relevance. "
European governments "to their views on the appropriate present value of what they do," he said. "We will see exactly how they are justified, and I do not expect them every reason in the same way because they do not have access to the market itself for the same price."
