A 7.7-magnitude earthquake rattled Indonesia's Sumatra island from this morning, make sparks fire, electricity poles and triggering a small tsunami that sent panicked residents running for higher ground.About a dozen were reported injured, but most were small.The quake struck at 5:15 local time clock, about 125 miles northwest of the city Sibolga on Sumatra, according to the U.S. Geological Survey's Web site. He revised the magnitude of the initial 7.8. The area was hit hard by 2004 Asian tsunami, and many cities are just now completing the renovation.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center put out a warning message to say a small tsunami could affect coasts within 60 miles of the epicenter of the quake, but lifted it two hours later after a destructive widespread tsunami seemed unlikely.

A small tsunami measuring about 16 inches above normal wave tiers Banyak Island, Nias and Sibolga after Indonesian Agency for Meteorology and Geophysics. The wave flooded houses and destroyed some coastal fishing boats in the area, but no major damage reported.
